Every young child is working hard to become who they will be — reaching for independence, order, and understanding, often in ways that puzzle the adults around them.

The 3–6 Orientation opens a window into that process: why children do what they do, what they truly need in the earliest years, and how the adults in their lives can respond with clarity instead of guesswork.

No classroom experience is required.

Parents, grandparents, godparents, aunts, uncles, family friends, and anyone participating in the lives of a child will leave with a deeper, calmer understanding of the child in front of them — and a renewed sense of confidence in supporting their growth.

AMI 3-6 Assistants Adjunct Course: Deepening the Role

The Assistants Adjunct Course builds on the foundation of Orientation and prepares participants for the essential work of the assistant in a Montessori classroom. Coursework includes observation, material making, and how to engage with the developing child in the first plane of development.

The Assistant Adjunct is open to anyone who has completed an AMI 3-6 Orientation Course.

Offered through our partnership with the Montessori Institute of North Texas (MINT), the next session runs January 5–17, 2027, with two weeks of online coursework and a one-day in-person session at MINEO on January 16th. This one day session will be held in our newly prepared 3–6 environment.

This course is well suited for classroom assistants as well as aftercare and other care professionals who work alongside young children each day.

AMI 3-6 Diploma Course: Leading the Classroom

For those called to lead a Montessori classroom, the AMI 3–6 Diploma Course offers comprehensive preparation to become a Montessori guide. We are excited to bring a credentials training opportunity to Northeast Ohio.

The course follows a 13-month blended format, combining online study with in-person segments at MINEO.

The first cohort begins April 22, 2027.

The Diploma Course is appropriate for anyone pursuing AMI credentials, and for schools seeking to invest in current staff members by elevating their roles and qualifications.

In this two-day course, care partners will learn to see each person's strengths, interests, and capacities first, and to build care around them. Participants design environments, activities, and routines that open pathways to independence, purpose, and meaningful connection for older adults and people living with dementia, disability or the changes that come with aging.

The course is open to professional caregivers, activity and life-enrichment staff, healthcare and memory-care teams, educators, and family care partners.
